Peters Drive In

Today is moving day (and tomorrow). Before starting packing we went out for lunch and for the first time went to the legendary Peter's Drive Inn (http://www.petersdrivein.com/ ). Here you can fill your arteries hardening and the milkshakes are so thick - you burst a brain bubble trying to suck it up the straw. This place last summer sold 4,000 milkshakes in one day. Nuts.

This place is crazy busy and left us feeling like we should roll home.

White water rafting in Jasper

Soooooo much fun on the Athabasca river (http://www.whitewaterraftingjasper.com/index.html) We would definetly recommend. At that time of the year the water was freezing cold. Too bad for Shannon who was at the front and prone to getting wet!

Aloha festival

This festival was on the last day we were here. The parade lasted for a good 2 hours.

Afterwards we ventured back to the Nike Town Store and found out that everything was 70% yes, 70% off. No wonder people were walking out with bags and bags of shoes! We did nicely. We picked up shoes and sunnies. We loves a bargain.

Diamond Head

We walked Diamond Head (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_Head,_Hawaii ) and it was HOT! But the view was definetly worth it. We were going to walk home (I swear it would have taken 3 hours... ) but luckily a bus showed up just as we were walking out the fate and Shannon was smart enough to spent $10 to get us back to Waikiki!

Kayaking in Hawaii

The photos look gorgeous don't they? They were taken before it happened.

I asked Shannon what to write - and he said write "We should have watched the instructional video".

All was good until we had to get back to shore after being on the 2nd island. Then the waves built up and we could not get into our kayak. We had 2 people try and help us get in. Anne fell out probably 3 times. Anne also got bowled over by the kayak coming at her legs at 100km per hour x 2. She face planted the ground and had bruises and cuts to prove it along her arms and legs. Anne lost the flippers - Shan found the flippers. Shan grazed and cut his knee and bled all the way back to shore. - we were lucky we were not eaten by a shark or something. We were not happy campers kayaking back (prob took us 45 minutes or so). We were both bleeding and bruised.

Shan was yelling PADDLE PADDLE trying to get away from the island - the embarrasment was too much for him.

Energy snack - Hawaii

Shan needed some energy food from starbucks before tackling Ross for Less and Walmart.

Cheescake Factory

We finally made it to the Cheescake factory (when we saw it during our honeymoon - the line was soooo long). So we decided to go there at 5:30pm and we made it straight in. But the place was packed already - and this restaurant was huge. I think the largest restaurant I have been in. Shan's main course was hidden by his massive side of potatoes (thats all you can see in the pic). And of course we had to try one of the cheesecakes. Lime raspberry cheesecake to be exact. So good - but so bad.

Shave Ice - Hawaii

This is Waikiki's desert - one of those things you need to try. The hyatt on the beach is famous for theirs and for a lazy $4 bucks you can buy this monster!

Dennys Hawaii

We were sad to see that the Dennys that we frequented during our honeymoon was shut. It was very close to our apartment. So we hunted down another Denny's and obviously Shannon was very happy with that. All I eat at Denny's is the nachos and they do not disappoint!

Califonia Pizza x 2 - in Hawaii

We came here twice. 1 because we had a 15% off voucher. 2 because Shan didn't have a PIZZA at a PIZZA parlour and he needed to have one after seeing how good mine was. Apparently this franchise is responsible for the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Hmmm... maybe we should have tried that?

Hawaii Premium Factory Outlets

All US holidays must include factory outlets. It is a given. But it is not just Anne that wants the outlets - Shan does some pretty bad damage to the credit card also. The puma bag is some casual shoes that Shannon bought - 60% off. We were in there for an hour deciding on colours. I almost laughed out loud when the total came to $40. He deliberated so much over $40 dollars. Later he mentioned that we could probably claim 100% through my wellness allowance. He was right. ha.

Shan had a craving for Vietnamese noodles (was the first of many!)

Seattle!

First time in Seattle for Anne (not for Shan) but we were stuck in the airport, on the way to Hawaii. I didn't eat here (we had fish and chips actually) - but I wanted to get in a photo that actually said Seattle (sad I know!)
